M – J

“M – J” is a project that not only deals with fashion photography but also wants to create a different image language using a wide variety of photographic means. This work was created in collaboration with Iva Ivanova, a fashion designer from Graz, who specializes in timeless and environmentally friendly fashion. With her clothes she already formed an image around her name.

Through the whole book there is an almost a romantic conversation between the photographer and the model. It already starts at the cover of the book an goes till the end. This conversation should create a kind of game for the viewer to work with and read through with the model and the photographer. With this conversation the book is very open for the reader, and it almost seems like it would never end.

Not only fashion shots are in this project, but also a series of landscape shots, which also convey the concept of a bond with nature. Also, a series of product photographs in the studio combine the work with pictures of fine details in the fashion. The photographs were taken in almost untouched nature and result in a uniform structure throughout the entire work. The Photographs of the Model Johanna don’t really give the feel of a classical fashion shoot where the pictures are highly focused on the fashion but with this work the focus was on the Model.
